Repair Cost Limit
You do not need to spend more than $450.00 on
repairs for registration renewal (plate sticker) if the repairs are completed at
an accredited Test and Repair facility, with the following exceptions:
The $450.00 repair cost limit does not apply to:
- repairs needed to pass the pre-inspection (example: repairing exhaust
system)
- repairs done by a non-accredited repair shop or "do-it-yourself"
- replacement of a missing gas cap(s) or catalytic converter(s)
- re-sale or ownership transfer of vehicle when a "Safety Certificate" is
required
- It should be clearly understood that repairs done at a non-accredited
garage, or by yourself will not qualify for the $450.00 Repair Cost
Limit.
